Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach out to us at info@hawaiihealthinsurancegroup.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

All Islands! Oahu, Maui, Big Island, Kauai, Molokai, Lanai.

There are a couple of qualifications to be eligible for a group health insurance plan:

  1. There needs to be at least one (1) W-2 employee (on payroll) that will have coverage through the group plan. This can also be the owner as long as the owner is also a W-2 employee of their company.
  2. The company must have an approved FEIN and DOL number to start the plan. (If you're a start up, we can still get quotes for you, but the plan won't be eligible to start until your business is registered with the State of Hawaii).

There are a few ways:

  1. You can click on "Request a free quote" at the top of every page to send us a message.
  2. You can email us at info@hawaiihealthinsurancegroup.com
  3. You can give us a call us at 808-461-0030

We'll set up at time to briefly chat so we understand your needs. Then we'll just need to collect some information that the insurance companies need for underwriting.

  1. Each insurance company has their own applications to fill out, but HHIG will help with this to save you time.
  2. Each insurance company will also ask for standard info for the members that will be on the plan (employees, owners, and any dependents): Names, Date of  birth, gender (this includes any dependents).
  3. Some may ask for additional items to help with underwriting, but this is case-by-case.

HHIG is committed to submitting all requests for quotes the same day we receive the information that is needed. But each insurance carrier has their own standard turn-around times, which can vary from a couple days to a week or more, depending on their volume and resources. Depending on your needs, HHIG can wait to compile all the quotes into one package, or we can send you the quotes as they are released.
